REGULAR MEETING – VILLAGE OF NORTHVILLE
Tuesday, May 18, 2026
The Village Board met Tuesday, May 18, 2026, at 7:00 PM.

Mayor Eckert called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Motion to approve the minutes of April 21, 2026, Regular Meeting was made by Trustee Sedon, seconded by Trustee Markiewicz and passed by voice vote as follows:

REPORT OF COMMITTEES:
Police – The police report was filed with the Clerk and read at the meeting. It was reported there were 56 calls handled in April.
Streets – The DPW report was read and is on file at the Clerk’s office.
Highway Superintendent Reidell introduced new Laborer, Mike Sheeran, to the Board.
Highway Superintendent Reidell reported that Brush and Leaf pickup dates in the Village would be: June 3rd and 17th
July 1st, 15th, and 29th
August 12th and 26th
Highway Superintendent Reidell gave an update on the flower boxes that the Girl Scouts are constructing. He anticipated they would be ready June 6th or 7th. He asked the Board if they wanted him to put out the old planters in the meantime. The Board agreed to wait for the new planters to be finished.
Water – It was reported that usage decreased from 2,631,000 gallons in April 2025 to 1,887,000 this year. Water testing and operations were normal.
Highway Superintendent Reidell reported that the upgrades at the well house would be starting this week.
Code Enforcement- The Code Officer’s report was filed. It was reported that six permits were issued in April.
Joint Youth – Trustee Sedon reported JY Director, Kelly Robinson, had opened registrations again through Friday of this week in an attempt to get more participants.
Park Use Requests – No Requests
Marketing – The Clerk indicated that she is planning the Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 25th at 6 p.m. She stated that Gabe Enders would be the guest speaker.
She stated that she continues to work on the 2026 DOINS as well.
END OF YEAR TRANSFERS
Trustee Rudd made a motion to authorize salary increases for bi-weekly employees to take effect with the first payroll with a pay date falling in June 2026, which encompasses May 23, 2026 through June 5, 2026; and to authorize non-modified accrual of the first payroll with pay date on or after June 1, 2026. The motion was seconded by Trustee Markiewicz and carried by voice vote as follows:

Trustee Sedon made a motion to authorize the following Transfers as presented by Treasurer Matthews:
$6,100 To: A5110.1 Streets – Personal Services
From: A5142.1 Snow Removal – Personal Services
$1,500 To: A5110.2 Streets – Equipment
From: A1990.4 Contingent
$1,500 To: F8340.1 Water – Transmission/Distribution – Personal Services
From: F8340.4 Water – Transmission/Distribution – Contractual
The motion was seconded by Trustee Rudd and carried by voice vote as follows:

PAYMENT OF BILLS:
The monthly financial report was reviewed and bills to be paid from the General Fund in the amount of $ 29,863.77, from the Water Fund in the amount of $27,491.73, and $ 1,756.44 from the Joint Youth Fund were presented for payment. Motion to approve payment was made by Trustee Markiewicz, seconded by Trustee Rudd and carried by voice vote as follows:

NEW BUSINESS:
Mayor Eckert presented an MOU between Northville Central School and the Village Police Department. She indicated the MOU was for the purpose of adding the Northville Police Department to the emergency notification system in the event of school safety incidents. Mayor Eckert explained that Fulton County Dispatch and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department were on the notification system as well. After discussion, the Board authorized Chief Richardson to complete the MOU.
CORRESPONDENCE – None
PUBLIC COMMENT: No one from the public wished to address the Board.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business before the Board, motion was made to adjourn by Trustee Sedon, seconded by Trustee Markiewicz and passed by voice vote with no one dissenting. The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
