BUDGET HEARING – VILLAGE OF NORTHVILLE

Monday April 2, 2019

 

The Village Board conducted a budget hearing on Monday, April 2, 2019 commencing at 6:30 PM at the village offices.

Present:           John Spaeth, Mayor

Sue Eckert, Trustee

Steve Collins, Trustee

John Markiewicz, Trustee

                                    Sue Sedon, Trustee

 

Treasurer: Nathanial Matthews

Recording Secretary: Wendy Reu, Clerk

 

Mayor Spaeth opened the Budget Hearing at 6:31 p.m.

 

No public was in attendance or expressed a desire to address the Board regarding the Budget. Mayor Spaeth indicated that the Budget before the Board was what was reviewed by them at the Budget Workshop on March 11, 2019.

 

At 7:11 p.m., Mayor Spaeth closed the public access portion of the Budget Hearing on a motion by Trustee Markiewicz, seconded by Trustee Collins, and carried by voice vote as follows:

AYE:               Trustee Eckert, Trustee Collins, Trustee Markiewicz, Trustee Sedon

NAY:                      0

ABSTAIN:            0

                                   

Mayor Spaeth proffered the tentative budget, also labeled “Preliminary Budget”. The following resolution was proposed by Mayor Spaeth who urged its adoption.

 

RESOLUTION #9 of 2019

A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING JUNE 1, 2019 AND ENDING MAY 31, 2020, MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTHVILLE GOVERNMENT, AND ESTABLISHING THE RATES OF COMPENSATION FOR OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES FOR SUCH PERIOD

WHEREAS this board has met at the time and place specified in the notice of public hearing on the preliminary budget and heard all person desiring to be heard thereon;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the preliminary budget as proffered and as hereinafter set forth is hereby adopted and that the several amounts stated in the column titled “Adopted” in Schedules A1, F1, and J1 be and hereby are appropriated for the objects and purposes specified and the salaries and wages stated in Schedule 5 of such budget shall be and are hereby fixed at the amounts shown there, effective June 1, 2019.

Motions to pass the budget as proposed in the Tentative Budget was made by Trustee Eckert, seconded by Trustee Collins and passed by roll call vote as follows.

NAY:                      0

ABSTAIN:            0

 

ADJOURNMENT:     Motion to adjourn was made at 7:12 p.m. by Trustee Markiewicz, seconded by Trustee Eckert, and passed by voice vote, no one dissenting.
